The Guiloswage – A Small Bore Swaging Machine
Genflex specialises in manufacturing unique solutions for industries that use hydraulic hose. The company has an in-depth knowledge of the industries within which they work.
A uniquely South African invention made entirely with South African produced materials is the Guiloswage invented by David Michelle, Director of Genflex.
This machine, with the patent pending, will reduce downtime and costs in the mining, engineering, mechanical handling and construction sectors.
When a hose bursts in any one of the above-mentioned sectors, reparation activities are usually costly and timely as often the outer cover needs to be removed on the pipe before the problem can be fixed.
The Guiloswage removes this hassle.
Powered hydraulically, the Guiloswage (weighing45kgs) is simply placed alongside the area where the burst pipe is. Technicians simply need to place the hose into the guillotine area of the Guilswage and cut. The remaining two sections of pipe are repaired using fittings which have been designed to fit onto the outer thick cover of the hose and which then bite into the hydraulic hose braids. This completely removes the need to take off the outer cover of the pipe before repairing. The Guiloswage is the only machine in South Africa that can cut and repair hydraulic hose and water jetting hoses on site and with a minimum of downtime and without the usage of electricity.
The Guiloswage is available in two models. The larger model weighs 100kgs and comes with a front tool box and is trolley mounted and water proof. The Back-Pack Guiloswage is 44kgs, also waterproof, and can easily be slipped onto a technician’s back and carried to the site of the breakage.
Pre-set to set-die arrangements, the Guilswage removes the need for electricity or batteries to run as it uses hydraulic power. The machine can accommodate fittings and hose up to 1” and all sizes can be manufactured to customer requirements.
The Guiloswage is available at a cost of approximately R25, 000
