Minetough Hydraulic Hose
Always seeking to offer a better service and product, Genflex has sourced a hydraulic hose that has a longer lifespan.
In 2006 Genflex introduced an innovative hydraulic hose to the South African market called Minetough.
Minetough is sourced in Germany and China and the outer cover can be manufactured in three different thicknesses.
Minetough has proven itself to have a greater lifespan than other hose and hose assemblies.
Being new to the market, Minetough is being carefully monitored. The pressure and burst points of this new hose are on trial to make sure that it is a quality product, and research so far gives a more than positive indication that it is.
The monitoring exercise is a difficult one as the hose needs to be brought to the surface for inspection, when the actual work environment for Minetough is underground.
Hose Repair & Testing Machine
After washing out the hose which removes all particles, the visual leaks are repaired and the hose is then tested on a testing rig of 400 bar pressure for a period of one minute. Any further leaks can be detected there and then and repaired. Once the hose is date stamped it can be returned underground for further service.
Tests have shown that using this system, hydraulic hose life, especially underground, can be extended dramatically.
