The Genflex Hydraulics Testing Facility
Genflex places great emphasis on quality products that meet international standards. An investment in 2005 of some R300, 000 to install a hose pressure and measurement testing facility is proof of that commitment. This enables the company to test hydraulic hose prior to delivery to their customers.
As a leading supplier of hydraulic hose to various industries, Genflex imports hose from overseas. This hose comes with certificates of standard compliance, safety factors and pressure test readings. However, Genflex re-tests the hose to make sure it is of the same high quality and standard that branded international competitors adhere to.
The testing facility has three phases of test and measurement that all hose is subjected to on a random basis:

The Abrasive Testing Machine monitors the amount of cycles a hydraulic hose can be subjected to before the outer casing starts to disintegrate.

The Pressure Test machine can pressure-test hoses of all sizes. This machine made to Genflex specifications can test over 200 metres of hydraulic hose in 10 minutes.

The Fitting Testing Machine tests the strength and wear and tear of the fitting attached to the hydraulic hose. These tests are done under linear pressure and done on the strength of the nut and retainability of the fitting on the hose.
